Will Gibson - North-East England Science Fiction Author

About Me

I'm now a twice published author, I'm a Geordie born and bred, and I live near Newcastle with my wife and two children.

A staunch Newcastle United fan, I've been an avid scifi nerd since reading Arthur C Clarke aged 10 and watching "V - The Mini Series". More recently my influences are my namesake William Gibson, and I’m so excited at the rumoured TV adaption of “Neuromancer”. I’ve been captivated by the “Three Body Problem” trilogy, and loved the sheer scale of the books, and the Netflix adaptation was also brilliant, despite the differences. I can’t wait for Series 2 to come out!

By day I’m an executive in the telecoms industry, and a consultant to many companies all over the world. At my last count I have 79 countries visited!

I’m a futurist, and I’m fascinated as to what the world will become with the advancement of technology. Driverless cars, home helper robots, automated factories at scale and even maybe wireless electricity! That’s what I write about and what I’m fascinated by. I’ve also a strong interest in psychology and human behaviour, and I’m a qualified NLP Practitioner which explains it.

These themes of the quest for meaning, purpose and the dynamics of human and family relationships really get me thinking, and I’m sure you can see a lot of this in my writing too.

My novels are “The Unravelling” which was released in 2024 and is a fun take on a near future of autonomous everything. It's wrapped around the kidnapping (and rescue!) of a global pop star. It’s “light science fiction” and is a humorous take as to where we could be very soon. At almost 60,000 words, it’s not long, and is a fun beach read.

My second novel “The Paranoid Android” was released in early 2026, and is a longer much deeper read. It's a take on a farther distance future when we have autonomous helpers in our every day lives. It follows the dynamic of a young family, and is written from the perspective of the titular android, which was really fun to do.

I’ve got a great community with my readers, with facebook, Instagram, X, tiktok and other enjoyable social media sites. I’ve got nearly 12,000 followers on LinkedIn connected to my business, where I create content and post regularly nearly every day.

The Paranoid Android

By 2075, humanity and machines are indistinguishable. Zenon, an AI butler serving a corrupt government official, uncovers dark secrets that threaten his master's family and the entire world.

As global tensions escalate, he grapples with his programming: is he merely a tool, or can he forge his own destiny?

Paranoid Android is a gripping sci-fi thriller where one android's quest for autonomy could be humanity's salvation—or its destruction.

Perfect for fans of dystopian suspense and the ethical dilemmas of artificial intelligence. Can Zenon rewrite his fate, or is he trapped forever?

The Unravelling

In the year 2038, a disillusioned English boy has an audacious plan. He wants to 'save' his beloved Asian pop star from her unusual life. This collides with a weary New York cop's pursuit of an unfathomable global conspiracy.

Humanity balances on the razor's edge between AI-governed order and lawless urban chaos. Unprecedented system failures plunge the world into turmoil. Joe Jones races against time to unravel the deceit behind apocalyptic threats and protect those he loves.

This reveals the delicate intersection of human vulnerability and technological dominance.
